Alex McAndlish, Butchers
Alex McAndlish is the local butcher, in the Greenhills Shopping Centre, and has been resident there for nearly thirty years. See the documentary for more details on Alex's output over the years!


East Kilbride Arts Council
The Arts Council are the body, funded by South Lanarkshire Council, who support a variety of different art forms throughout East Kilbride and the surrounding area. They can be contacted through the East Kilbride Arts Centre, on 01355-261000.


John Morrison, Bakers
Morrison's the Bakers have been churning out the rolls and pies for about the same length of time as the butchers, and are situated just next door in the Greenhills Shopping Centre.


John P. Fenton, Chemists
John Fenton has been the chemist in the Greenhills Shopping Centre since the beginning too. He though has had two shop units, one in the original Shopping Centre and he moved sides when the Centre was re-developed.


The Greenhills Pub
Serving the community and serving pints of beer for nearly three decades. A good pub lunch too.

Councillor Archie Buchanan, SNP. Greenhills ward
Archie is the elected councillor for the Greenhills ward. He is the chairperson of the GMVG group and is active in many other groups and organisations, as well as representing the views of the SNP at South Lanarkshire Council.


Dave Watson, SNP. Crosshouse/ Hairmyres ward
Dave is the elected member for the Crosshouse/Harmyres ward. He is also an active member of the SNP and has supported the aims of the GMVG group since it's inception.


Les Dixon. Greenhills Resident
Les is the chairperson of the Greenhills 2000 group and has been active in organising community events in Greenhills for many years. He moved to the area in the 1970's, has lived here ever since and has enjoyed every minute!

Redindex Productions


Red Index productions based at the Scottish Enterprise Technology Park, East Kilbride are a Film and Television Production company servicing both the Broadcast and Corporate sectors. Ideally situated for access to the UK market place but without the need to travel to London.

Set up in 1998, our staff have over twelve years network broadcast expertise and experience on both the BBC and ITV stations. We have been involved in the production on shows such as “The Saturday Show”, “That's Life!”, “Without Prejudice”, “Noel's House Party”, “Children in Need”, “The National Lottery Show”, “Simply Fred”, “Going, Going, Gone” and “Caledonia Macbrains”.

As well as a broad range of broadcast experience we have also worked for corporate clients as diverse as Glasgow City Council, Abbey National, British Airways, Ericsson and projects funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Red Index aim to bring broadcast flair to the corporate market and good business sense to the world of Film and Television.
